Compassionate Petey

Giverny

Things are a tad busy for the next few days, so it may be a bit before I can post anything in depth. In the meantime, you owe it to yourself to mosey over to One Cosmos, and read Gagdad Bob’s post on compassion entitled In the Name of Petey, the Merciful, the Compassionate!

Robert Godwin is one of the deepest thinkers and writers out there today–albeit with an eclectic style and complex word-play which makes you stop and think often–but stop and think is what you should do when reading his posts. He puts into words thoughtful and deep a remarkable post on the topic of compassion–and what passes for compassion in our postmodern age. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

And for your meditative moment, the photo above is the lily pond at Monet’s home in Giverny, the subject of many of his impressionist paintings.
