great blog....

Joe, Can you please provide the bill links or page cites. My favorite is the healthy lifestyle considerations...and school nurse requirements......sounds a lot like what insurance companies do with pre-existing conditions.
WelfAre reform was intended to help single parent families after vietnam... It was predicted it would destroy poor African American families and by most accounts IT DID JUST THAT. The Mass. gay marriage law was intended to support gay families without impacting heterosexuals... yet the martial parity provisions forced Catholic Charities to cease its adoption program bc of the tax impact caused by not treating gay and heterosexual couples "the same" when it came to adoption of Catholic babies. Mass. has other adoption agencies which are available to gay couples so this was not the only route to adoption. What unintended consequence will this bill have.

OK, the present system is dysfunctional and the proposed system is an Obomination. It is easy to find fault with both. What then is good plan? How exactly should it work? I see plenty of statements about what a good plan should include or avoid, but I don’t see an actual alternative plan.

Explain what are the benefits of the politicos re: this bill. Besides campaign funding, you need to clarify. The basic problem is NOT the health care bill itself, but the legality of lobbying and the financing of our representation by interest groups.
Health insurance industry and pharm industry are the predators here. I am not sure you can take the words of physicians, including myself, on this, as we have a vested interest in the status quo.

I too have spent a lot of time on the Healthcare bill. I see it as using an atomic bomb to solve a problem that could use a sniper.
I have carefully laid out the key issues that need resolution in order to fix/reduce the cost of healthcare. Nobody seems to want to deal with the real problems.
Thank you for your candor in explaining the travesty known as the Healthcare Bill.
