I, too, am sick of politics and all the outrageous promises they make. The Democrats could have no more solved the problems in this world then or now! I'm scared to death of any 'major networks' comentaries. They absolutely have a decided slant on any news story these days. Thank God there are some 'religious zealots' out there that still care about what is spewed out on the evening news. Tom Brokaw used to be my go-to guy but it seems now that he is very reluctant to take a stand. You guys better watch out. Obama will spread your wealth around the country. What a crock!

Wonderful blog, Doc! Congrats, I look forward to dropping in frequently!

That being said, let this be said: Charlie Gibson is nothing but a pompous Princeton putz.

I started watching ABC News nightly when it was anchored by the late great Frank Reynolds...A genial, serious non-ideologue of the old school who just happened to been a veteran of D-Day...That Reynolds goodwill caused me to stick with ABC thru Max Robinson...Peter Jennings, believe it or not...But when Charlie Gibson had belittled the surge and US troops for about the 59th straight time, he pushed me over the edge. I haven't watched ABC News since mid-2007. At least Brian Williams has a pretense of fairness.

"The secular mindset cannot grasp that in a morally corrupt world filled with evil, that some might be called to seek the wisdom and power of God to resist evil and defend the good, and through such prayers seek the hope and character to transform the world in some small way to a place where good overcomes evil."

Don't get too carried away here, I assure you that the secular mindset can very definitely grasp that. Many of us are cheap, though, and will pretend not to recognize the validity of the sentiment. I'll grant you the heck out of that. Just grant me in return that secular folks are likewise able to "seek the hope and character to transform the world in some small way to a place where good overcomes evil."

I always liked Charlie Gibson on GMA. Mark me down as one of those who has crossed him off the "nice guys" list.

In addition to your suggested questions for him, I would like to suggest this one: If your guy, who was in the White House for 8 years and drew more than one [wavy] line in the sand, had responded with the same decisiveness and tenacity that the current President Bush has shown, would this war even have been necessary?

That is not to say that this war has been fought well, from the beginning, but I'm sick of the Left claiming this is Bush's war for the purpose of gaining oil. 'Scuze me. Both of the Clintons, as well as other Democrats, faced with the same evidence as was given to the President, said initially that this war was necessary. Many on the Left said the same. Then the cry became, "Bush lied / People died." Was Bush the liar, or the lied-to? And, again, if our previous President had been more courageous, would 9/11 ever have happened? I submit that it probably would not have.

Okay, rant over. I'm sick of the Left, I'm sick of politics. What I hate about political campaigns is all the mean-spiritedness, lies, rumors, innuendos and distortions--all stated as "facts." And none of that is limited to one party. Make it go away, Dr. Bob. Make it all better.
