Hi Bob,

I guess your article is ok.

The Germans did not kill 1 million of our soldiers though – I don’t even think they killed 1 million of our soldiers if you include the British.

We lost 600,000 soldiers in WWII, including to the Japanese. Maybe you were including the Russions, but I’m not sure I include them in a definition of “us” or “our”.

Dr. Bob – ouch! Oh, and touche. I read “theother” post multiple times, trying unsuccessfully to discern its meaning and intent. I am puzzled that blog commenters are often incapable to expressing themselves with any clarity. If it is a reflection of the commenter’s most basic thought processes, well, that’s even more deeply troubling. Of course, he’s (assuming it’s a he) not alone, there are loons in every corner of the virtual world…

I realized after I posted last, that your blog is not “The downward spiral”, but the Doc Is In – apologies! I bookmarked that one essay so I always arrive through that particular “portal”.

I do admire your writing style, wish you could post more often and occasionally on lighter topics! I imagine that each post takes quite a bit of time. Thanks for lighting a candle in one small corner of the Net! Best to you, Jess
