Are we having fun yet? Check your blood pressure, and think of all the ways it could be just a little worse.
Vaya con Dios, Bob.

Any one of the things that have happened in your family would cause despair, but so many...all at one time. Oh my. Your writing about fairness, and the fact that life is not fair, and God is not fair, but merciful and the fact that He is not quick to judge but is generous with grace.

That is what sustains me, and I thank you for expressing it so well.

Words fail me. It is times like these that make you glad for little favors, because the big ones are sure not coming. You are "walking in the fire" as a good friend once remarked when we were going through a tough time. It's hard to put a positive spin on pain and suffering, but the old saw is right: if it doesn't kill you it makes you better after it's over.

I'm just glad your computer is still working so your online support doesn't fall apart as well. Our job is to comfort, encourage and be cheerleaders as needed. This might be a good time to give yourself a string of little escapes. Take two You Tubes and call me in the morning.
